FAQ

The best way to schedule is through the Book Now page, make sure you fill out the form provided. Due to high demand, you will be reached within 2-3 business days once form is submitted.

2. Do you accept walk-ins?

   I go by appointments only.

3. What is the minimum age requirement for getting tattooed?

Must be 18-yrs or older. Drivers license or ID verification is required.

4. Do you require a deposit to book?

Yes, a deposit is required to schedule an appointment. All deposits are non-refundable but it is applied towards the balance of your tattoo.

5. What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

I do require a minimum of a 3-day notice to reschedule your appointment. If you cancel, no call or no show, your deposit will be forfeited. If you need to reschedule last minute I do charge another deposit to reschedule and hold your last deposit.

6. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Yes, there’s usually some level of discomfort involved, but pain varies depending on factors like the tattoo’s location, your personal pain tolerance, and the tattoo’s style. Areas with thinner skin or more nerve endings tend to be more painful, whereas areas with more muscle or fat, are usually less intense. I’ll work with you to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

7. How do you go about designing my tattoo?

I do not copy and paste tattoos I've already done, pinterest designs or tattoos other artists have done. Everyone deserves a unique tattoo. Your design will be prepared in accordance with your wishes and requirements, but I will also need the freedom to do what I do best. I like to work with one client at a time so I design the night before or morning of your appointment. I only show the design the day of your tattoo appointment, if it needs any changes we can fix it together.

8. Can I get a tattoo over scars, birthmarks, or other skin conditions?
It’s possible to tattoo over scars or birthmarks, but it depends on their age, texture, and location. Fresh scars need time to fully heal, usually at least a few months before tattooing over them. I can assess the area during a consultation to see what’s possible. If you have any serious skin conditions please get a doctors approval before getting tattooed.

9. Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?
For safety reasons, I don’t recommend getting a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding. Your immune system is more sensitive during these times, and there are risks of infection or adverse reactions. It’s best to wait until after this period.

10. Will my tattoo fade or change over time?
Yes, tattoos naturally fade over time due to factors like sun exposure, skin changes, and aging. Keeping it moisturized and protected from the sun with SPF can help maintain the colors. Some people also get touch-ups after a few years to keep their tattoo looking fresh.

11. Can I remove or cover up a tattoo later?
Yes, both options are available. Laser removal is an option but can be costly and take multiple sessions. Cover-ups are also a good choice if you’d like to transform an old tattoo into something new. I can guide you through the best option based on your tattoo.

12. What’s the healing process like?
Healing takes around 2-4 weeks, depending on the tattoo's size and placement. You’ll need to keep the area clean, avoid soaking it in water, and apply recommended aftercare products to aid healing. There may be some itching or peeling, which is normal.

13. How do I care for my tattoo afterward?
Aftercare is essential. I’ll provide specific instructions, which typically include gently washing the tattoo, applying an unscented, alcohol-free lotion, and avoiding direct sunlight, swimming, and tight clothing on the area until it’s fully healed.

Preparing for Your Tattoo Appointment

- Make sure you get enough rest the night before your tattoo appointment. This will help your body tremendously.
- Eat before your tattoo appointment. We do take one lunch break and maybe another two 15-minute breaks for snacking if preferred
- Bring yourself some water/ favorite drinks/snacks! (I do carry water/drinks/snacks at my shop as well.)
- Being hydrated before and during the tattoo session will help your body tremendously.
- Bring a sweater/blanket/long socks in case you get cold.
Sometimes, the body going through trauma may cause your body to feel cold/shiver/cold feet, so staying warm will help with that and circulation throughout the body.

Aftercare

1. Make sure to wash your hands with Antibacterial Hand Soap before starting this step! Gently remove the bandage off of the tattoo. There may be excess blood/ink/plasma floating around from the wound, which is completely normal. Do not panic!

2. Lather your tattoo with Antibacterial Hand Soap.(Do not use any wash clothes, sponges or anything that can irritate your tattoo) With your bare hands, gently lather your tattoo with soap rubbing off any excess blood/ink/plasma. No scrubbing or scratching! Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Repeat this step as needed until all blood/ink/plasma is cleaned off. You may do this over the sink or in the shower as well. Repeat at least 2-3 times a day. In the morning and before going to bed.

3. Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel until the tattoo is fully dry.

4. Apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Apply a very light layer and dab off any excess ointment with a paper towel in case you overdid it. Only apply enough to moisturize your tattoo.
Apply as needed throughout the day, and I recommend 2-3 times per day. DO NOT overdo it. Excessive amounts can cause breakouts or improper healing. Applying heavy amounts of ointment will not heal your tattoo faster.

5. Repeat these steps for at least 3 days after the bandage is removed. After that, you may start moisturizing with a regular lotion such as Lubriderm, Aveeno, or Suave. NO lotions with perfumes. Again, apply as needed. Moisturizing your tattoo will help the healing process tremendously and keep your tattoo looking vibrant.

You may shower regularly, but NO SWIMMING for the next 2 weeks. Avoid being in the pool, jacuzzi, the beach, or any large amounts of water for extended periods of time. Doing this during the healing stage, this may cause infection and improper healing. Try not to give it direct sunlight during the healing process. It will irritate your tattoo! Your tattoo will begin to scab and peel after 3-5 days of the healing process depending on how fast you heal and how well you keep up with the aftercare. It will look like ink is falling off along with the flakey scabs, but that is completely normal! It will look quite disturbing during this phase but refrain from picking at the scabs. Let them fall off on their own. Expect itchiness during the scabbing and last days of the healing, so do your best to not scratch your tattoo. I recommend gently smacking it when itchy to avoid irritation. Your tattoo will fully heal within 3 - 4 weeks. It is recommended to use sunscreen after you are healed to avoid fading/tanning over your tattoo. Keep up with your aftercare routine, and everything should heal up properly! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your artist and send pictures of your tattoo along with a short description of your concern.
